Service Update September 2020
Citizens Advice East End continue to seen a high demand for our advice and support services from local residents as we continue to work through this pandemic.
We have seen a significant rise in residents claiming universal credit this is due to the continuing loss of employment as companies close due to Covid 19 and furlough payments come to an end.
We continue to see a growth in benefits issues and debt problems, including residents facing challenges to pay rent and council tax arrears and access to fuel and food provision.
Waiting times for support:
- Our text ‘Help’ to 07860041410 – all enquiries receive a call back within 72 hours.
- Our Adviceline 0203 855 4472 receives 500 calls a day. The high demand means we cannot answer all calls. We are striving to respond to as many calls as possible.
Since we moved to phone and digital support on the 18th March 2020, as a result of Covid-19, Citizens Advice East End has helped local residents with around 10,000 issues.
We are working hard to help as many residents as we can. Unfortunately the need for our help continue to exceed our current capacity.
